Update: It’s been another great week of training at Halton. I’ve been working hard to create a high level of consistency in my rally balls and also focusing on the serve, return of serve and the third shot of the rally. It’s been really good fun working with the ProV3 squad and I’m hoping to see the benefits when I get back to competing. My next tournament will be the 14U National Tour Finals on 7 February. It’s been a big goal to qualify for the tour finals this season and I’m really pleased to have achieved it. Training next week will be all about preparing for this event. I’m also looking forward to 18U Bucks county training this weekend, and will be watching the Australian Open finals.

Update: Well into my first tournament of the year here in Andrezieux-Boutheon, France for the $60,000 event. Really pleased my partner and I are into the quarter finals after beating a German pair yesterday in a close contested 3-6 7-6 (5) 10-5 victory. We trailed 3-6 2-4 before managing to gain some momentum by tactically out smarting our powerful opponents using lobs, formations on the serve and set patters of poaching which took some doing as the courts here are very very fast! Tomorrow we face an even more powerful Romanian team. Today I did some training out on the running track and my daily core workout in the gym which isn’t quite Halton gym..making me feel very spoilt with the resources I have back at home! Looking forward to getting back out onto the Pink Panther courts tomorrow! Au revoir!

Update: Had a really great experience last week at Halton with a full time training week! It definitely had a positive impact on my journey and was a large help to practicing my new forehand technique. Hitting in the proV3 squads was a fantastic opportunity as I learnt a lot and improved my game each day. Thank you to all the coaches that helped and supported me last week.

Update: My tournament in Latvia finished yesterday for me.
I had a good run in doubles with my partner, Bella (Isabelle). We made the semi finals before going out to the top seeds. At this time of year the tournaments are very strong so it's nice to get into a semi finals early on and the extra points will take me into the 600's in the doubles rankings which is a nice boost!
Singles didn't go as I would have liked; I lost in a tight match. I was happy with some things out on the court but didn't manage to impose myself on the match as much as I would have liked. The good thing is that this match provided me with lots of feedback in terms of what was going well and what needs a little bit of work. I am excited to get back to base to work on these things.
I have a training week this week with a few areas to fine-tune before my next tournament, which is a UTR event in the UK next weekend. This is a good opportunity to get some more singles matches under my belt before my next trip abroad. Looking forward to getting back on court with the team!
