Update: Back at base for a couple weeks training. Had a good experience in Lyon facing the 2nd seeds. One of whom is a former world number 1 in doubles. I took away confidence in how close I am to being able to compete at the highest level week in week out however there is still exciting work to be done to get there. Can’t wait for the next challenge.

Update: Arrived in Lyon late last night for the WTA. It’s my first time actually experiencing this beautiful city. Landing into Lyon is usually an in and out job getting straight onto the train to a different city. A disappointing loss in the quarters last week in Sunderland to the Dutch pair but no time to dwell on it as another week poses another great opportunity. We have a few days to hit the practise courts and the gym & get ourselves mentally ready to do battle from the get go. We have set up practises with other doubles pairs for the next few days to get as much live play in as we can. Can’t get enough of the pink courts 🥰

Update: In Sunderland this week playing doubles in the 25k event. Eden and I play in the quarters tomorrow agains a Dutch pair. Nice to be back on home soil for a week but not nice to be in the snow up in the north! Really happy to see the improvements I have made over the last few weeks come into play on the match court. Feeling really positive & Looking forward to the rest of this week and then onto Lyon for the WTA next week!

Update: Touchdown in the UK. Had a great last few days in Dubai working on my game and watching the best players in the world compete live. Unfortunately Eden and I just missed out on getting into the doubles in Dubai as it was a much stronger turnout than what it initially looked like. However we really made the most of our time there and played practise sets against the top doubles pairs each day and continued to make improvements. Looking forward to our next few weeks of tournaments. Next week is Sunderland 25k and the following week back to WTA level in Lyon this time..a bit more local for a few weeks!

Update: Didn’t get the win but had a really positive singles match today here in Dubai Premier WTA. I competed against a player ranked in the top 40 in the world WTA and went toe to toe in a really competitive match throughout. Competing against the top players in the world really gives me clarity going forward on how to keep improving my game so that next time I can go one step further and convert these close losses into wins. All eyes on the doubles now 🤓

Update: Arrived here In Dubai early this morning at 5am after taking an overnight flight from Bangkok to Dubai. I went through my same routine as ever after a long journey of some light exercise, plenty of stretching and WATER!!! Really excited to have gotten into the Qualifying event again this week! This time through receiving a wild card. I play 4th match tomorrow so I have plenty time to have a lie in and go through my routines before my match. All main draw matches are able to be streamed through Amazon Prime. So if anyone wants to catch up on last weeks doubles then it should still be available to watch on Amazon Prime!

Update: A tough loss in the doubles yesterday. It was competitive right to the end but unfortunately we lost in a deciding tiebreak. 2-6 6-4 8-10. Eden and I fought very well to recover after losing the first set and trailing 2-3 in the second set. The losses have been tough as ever but it has been a great week of learning. I have been lucky enough to have Ed Taylor here for this trip to give constructive feedback during practise and matches. I don’t yet have the financial luxury to be able to travel with a coach regularly on the tour which means I have to rely on my own personal feedback a lot of the time or asking friends for their thoughts if they watched the match. So i am really lucky this trip and feel rapid improvements are being made and will continue to be made now whilst we prepare for next week. We are all having a day off today to reflect on the week and prepare for next weeks event in Dubai. The beauty of this brutal sport is you always have another opportunity which is why it is so important to reflect on the matches, pick yourself up and continue to learn and improve week in week out.

Update: Super happy to have won my first round of qualifying today 7-6(4) 6-4. I didn’t get off to the most flying of starts going down 0-3 in the first set as I was struggling to get used to the conditions,
however I recovered well and took the set on a tiebreak 7-6 and then continued the same momentum in the second set taking it 6-4. I really enjoyed the battle and being back on the singles court for the first time since early October! I also really enjoyed playing on the pretty pink courts here at True Arena. They have very recently changed the colour of the courts here to pink which reflects the commitment to a charity initiative which will provide valuable funding for breast cancer patients. All proceeds from ticket sales at the tournament will be donated to the Queen Sirikit Centre Breast Cancer Foundation. There are also lots of activities planned throughout the week to further raise awareness of the work of the foundation. 💕🎾

Update: Arrived in one piece here in Hua Hin, Thailand 🇹🇭 I haven’t done a long haul flight in a while and I totally forgot how taxing it is on the body! A lot of stretching and gentle exercises required today to flush out the fluid build up from the travel. Super excited to have also gotten into the singles qualifying here too which starts tomorrow. A great week of opportunities ahead of me. I’m playing first match at 11 on center court! 💪🏼 excited for my first singles match of the year

Update: Unfortunately our run came to an end in Andrezieux-Boutheon in the quarters finals. We faced a very powerful Romanian pair who played just too good on the day. C’est la vie! I’m spending a few days at home regrouping before I’m on to my next adventure in Hua Hin, Thailand for the WTA International! Really exciting event to be playing and I’m looking forward to further building on my performances from this week.
