Update: This weekend I played my first tournament after nearly a three month technical block. It was a 16U G3 at Tipton and I came third beating the 1st and 4th seeds but losing to the 2nd seed in the semis in three sets. I played four challenging matches and used what I have learnt over the past three months as best as I could. I’m really happy to be back on the match court and get a feel for where my level is and looking forward to continuing the work today.

Update: This weekend I played the 14U National Tour Finals (grade 1). Unfortunately, I struggled with elbow and shoulder injuries leading to retiring from the tournament.
However, I enjoyed the experience and learned a lot. And I will now be working on playing more aggressively.
I have regional tour u18 and u16 events over half term where I will be practicing my aggressive tennis.

Update: 4 days of rest and recovery and I’m back on court after a slightly pulled lower abdominal muscle at the British Tour in Bath. During my first match win (6-1 6-2) I felt a little niggle in my lower abdomen during the second set that got progressively worse afterwards forcing me to withdraw. This was a real shame as not only is Bath one of my favourite venues to play at I was actually playing really well and applying what I have been learning in training to the match court which is always a positive!
But these things happen however, I’m really happy to be back on court today representing Halton in the NPL League where we have now qualified top of the table for the NPL Finals! We played against Charnwood Tennis Club and had a convincing 4-0 win! Not all the matches were as easy as it seemed...I do love playing Team Tennis as the atmosphere is always electric and playing with Scarlett is always a blast. We came through our first match 6-0 6-0 and then our second match 4-6 6-0 10-6 in the championship tiebreak! We managed to get it together and pull off the win so am really happy to end the week on a positive!
Back into a slightly easier training week as not to aggravate my abdomen but also getting the ball rolling for the $25,000 in Glasgow which starts for me at the weekend! Hopefully by then I’ll be fully fit and be able to put my best foot forward!

Update: Super happy to have won my first round of qualifying today 7-6(4) 6-4. I didn’t get off to the most flying of starts going down 0-3 in the first set as I was struggling to get used to the conditions,
however I recovered well and took the set on a tiebreak 7-6 and then continued the same momentum in the second set taking it 6-4. I really enjoyed the battle and being back on the singles court for the first time since early October! I also really enjoyed playing on the pretty pink courts here at True Arena. They have very recently changed the colour of the courts here to pink which reflects the commitment to a charity initiative which will provide valuable funding for breast cancer patients. All proceeds from ticket sales at the tournament will be donated to the Queen Sirikit Centre Breast Cancer Foundation. There are also lots of activities planned throughout the week to further raise awareness of the work of the foundation. 💕🎾

Update: Arrived in one piece here in Hua Hin, Thailand 🇹🇭 I haven’t done a long haul flight in a while and I totally forgot how taxing it is on the body! A lot of stretching and gentle exercises required today to flush out the fluid build up from the travel. Super excited to have also gotten into the singles qualifying here too which starts tomorrow. A great week of opportunities ahead of me. I’m playing first match at 11 on center court! 💪🏼 excited for my first singles match of the year

Update: Good match play practice at the weekend playing the UTR event in Millfield. Some good quality matches that prepared me for the upcoming British Tour in Bath where I played my first match yesterday and won. Fingers crossed everything goes well today!💪🏾
