Medical supplies
Summary: Today Jungle Aid visited the schoolchildren's shelter in Bang Saphan. The community has had a number of infections lately. During the 3 hour journey down we were informed that the new mother and the prematurely born 5 month old twins were on their way to the hospital. We are hoping they all have the mildest of symptomsπππ
The entire group has been quarantined for the last month forcing the parents to miss work. This has put great pressure on their already meagre existence.
Today we paid for 2 months rent for the shelter and 600 baht for water and electricity (they normally pay it themselves)
Delivered eggs, pork, chicken, oil, noodles, mung beans, fish, rice and cleaning supplies.
We also delivered a donated Foosball table (football table).
Jungle Aid sent only a skeleton crew of a nurse, translator and area manager. We maintained a minimum of 2 metres distance and the maintenance medicines (asthma, contraceptives etc.) were placed in a box for pick up.
We are looking forward to a trip where these people's lives have returned to some kind of normality.
Despite their struggles they were putting on a strong show. It was evident that they were feeling the pressures.
