Which topics or aspects of the workshop did you find most interesting or useful?: Team Building Games, Communications
Did the workshop achieve the programme objectives?: Somewhat
If the answer is NO please explain in detail;: Objective 1 and 2 requires continuous efforts and commitment from all of us until we complete the project
Knowledge and information gained from participation at this event -: Somewhat
Will the information covered in the team building event be useful/applicable in your work?: To some extent - I knew a lot already
Please comment on the organization of the event (from 1 = insufficient to 5= excellent): 4
How do you think the workshop could have been made more effective?: Add more team building games outdoor. I attended a retreat by a beach ones the games were creative, challenging and complex. It really revealed a lot of hidden strengths of my colleagues and great fun.
Market Transformation and Engagement
Who do you think is the best targeted stakeholder?: I have been nominated as the Team Leader to head the Technical Projects in the Malaysia Plastic Pact which is chaired by the Ministry. PRO Malaysia (chaired by 10 CEOs of 10 top brands ) are keen to participate to work on designing market based instruments, policy and fiscal incentives and implementation plans (to increase recycled packaging content and reduce the use of virgin plastics) and to avoid duplication with one activity and one deliverable under SEA circular , the group thinks a collaboration could create a win-win
Who are you targeting?: Government agencies, Malaysian Investment Development Authority, Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers, PRO Malaysia 10 private sector MNCs, SME Corp, not for profits, NGOs, CSOs who are already part of Malaysia Plastics Pact
Map the suggested targeted stakeholders into 1 of the following four groups: High interest, high influence – partners you need to collaborate with
Partnerships - Meaningful Collaboration
Who are you targeting ?: I have currently build a strong network in both EU28 and ASEAN10 when I started managing projects for the European Commission in Malaysia and ASEAN countries in 2011. I am still
collaborating with these people to execute SEA circular activities in Malaysia and in contact with them so that they keep me in the now and connect me with who’s who for this and that. Intel is key and they keep me well informed too.
Common characteristics of partnerships: Financial support; a partnership may be funded by the participating organisations or through external funding
How do you think you can engage or collaborate with the identified partnership?: Workshops, Roadshows, Events, Panels, Regulations and Roadmap, Industry Specific Networking, Strategic Partnerships, Donations and Grants, Tradeshows, Fundraising Activities, Social Media
How are you building SEA circular brand visibility?
Suggestions and Ideas: 1. The Ministry and I have started to discuss a Malaysia Youth Ambassador programme for the country working closely with Ministry of Education. I am interviewing two candidates in 2 weeks time.
2. As the country representative for Circular Economy Club in Malaysia I have access to a network of 130 countries and 250+ cities with the help of our HQ in London. I use my access on the global platform to promote SEA circular activities especially to the ASEAN reps so they can promote it in their countries too. I did this for Sea of Solutions 2020 and the Thailand lead attended and brought many youths to SPD 2019
